New Anno game has been announced to be released in 2025 - Anno 117: Pax Romana. Anno series is a unique building and economic simulator that heavily utilizes production chains and trade routes. Original game was set in 1602 and few following games were set in the same early modern era. Then developers explored futuristic settings a bit with Anno 2070 and Anno 2205 - easily the weakest games in the series despite innovative "multiworld" mechanic and amazing visuals. The latest game - Anno 1800 - is set in industrial revolution era and has infinite amount of DLCs and expansions, game is really vast. The earliest era in Anno games so far was in Anno 1404. It barely has any innovations compared to its prequel - Anno 1701. Main feature is to be able to manage eastern civilization to provide unique goods to your main settlements. So after unsuccessful exploration of futuristic settings, Ubisoft decided to look further into the past and set new game in Roman Empire era. One of the very few games I'm waiting and will be playing on release. I played all Anno games starting with original one when I was a kid. Yes, couple of games are skippable due to them being completely fictional and thus difficult to master all the production chains. But all games with historical settings were marvellous with Anno 1701 being my favourite so far.
