Doom: The Dark Ages

Doom is returning to its origins: no extreme shortage of ammo and no parkour. Just run around and kill hordes of demons under heavy metal soundtrack, plain and simple. Last Doom game - Doom Eternal - had a few experiments with shooter mechanics. The most infuriating for me was very limited ammo capacity. Ammo is already a resource that has to be maintained, but game designers decided to bring it to the next level. In order to replenish ammo you had to use chainsaw to finish enemies off. More often than not, you ended up in arena with few large enemies, no ammo and low HP and had to run around like crazy waiting for smaller prey to spawn to replenish your ammo and stay alive. As if it wasn't enough, Doom Eternal had an excessive amount of platforming. All these jumping platforms and ladders didn't slow down the pace of the game, but still were a questionable addition to a fast pace shooter about killing hordes of enemies. What can we expect from id Software? Extremely beautiful yet extremely polished game. A continuation of a legendary trendsetter franchise. Technically, a prequel to Doom (2016), but who needs lore when you have shotgun that uses shards of crushed skulls as projectiles?
