The Day Before

It has been really interesting to follow the release and aftermath of the new huge open-world zombie survival game "The Day Before" taking place in a messed-up post-apocalyptic world. What a rollercoaster/dumpster fire! 🔥 In case you are not familiar with the situation, here's a short recap: So, "The Day Before" game was supposed to be a big deal on Steam, but it turned into a total disaster after it dropped on December 7. People were super hyped, but it went downhill fast – tons of players wanted their money back, and the studio making it, Fntastic, had to shut down. 😰 Just four days after it hit Steam, Fntastic admitted the game was a money disaster, and they didn't have enough cash to keep it going. They wiped their YouTube trailers, the CEO vanished from social media, and the game got pulled from Steam. Mytona, the publisher, said they're teaming up with Valve to get people their money back. 💸 Even with all the doubters, "The Day Before" got crazy popular on Steam. But Fntastic got heat for using unpaid helpers, and the game got delayed a bunch, including a big one right before it was supposed to come out. They said they were switching to a better game engine. 🤯 Finally, when "The Day Before" finally launched on December 7, it was a mess. Servers crashed, wait times were insane, and the game had more bugs than a creepy-crawly convention. Players were ticked off – they thought they were getting this epic open-world zombie game, but it felt more like a glitchy shooter. Fntastic tried to fix it, but it was too late. The game got trashed in reviews, loads of people got refunds, and Fntastic had to close up shop, saying they ran out of cash. 🫡 (credit for the image: https://www.reddit.com/user/vindjacka/)
