So, I've been playing the new wipe a little again in Escape From Tarkov. Couldn't resist the temptation even though BSG & Nikita have done some questionable decisions during the previous wipe. 🙄 It's been as fun as usual. Quite a few nice-to-have updates, such as the new boss Partisan (pictured), cultist circle in your hideout to receive useful items through sacrifice and the newly revamped factory map. ✨ This is the first time for me to try out the updated armor system and it feels better. A nice balance between the old "strong" armor system but with more variability. 👍 Still, I was one-tapped to armpit by the Partisan even though I haven't even decreased my karma by hiding in the bushes! 🤯 The point of him is that he hunts down campers that have continuously been hiding in the bushes. There's a separate karma system for that. 😆 So there is the armpit hitbox but I think it's much smaller than before. Factory seems quite fresh and more interesting with the new additions. It's less linear but still well-recognizable. I was able to kill Tagilla and found out he had a new Viibiin sneaker in his backpack. A new streamer item for Kappa container quest, Collector, I'd assume? 🤔 There's the marathon mode too, which allows you to travel directly between maps without going to hideout in-between. Apparently you're able to stash items in-between, but I haven't tried that mode yet. There are plenty of new quests for that mode only. That's pretty much it. Otherwise pretty similar stuff than before. 🚀 Exciting news for Escape From Tarkov fans! 🚀 The devs just teased an incredible rework of the Factory map, and it's shaping up to be a game-changer 🏭. In a sneak peek on X, game director Nikita Buyanov dropped two tantalizing screenshots. While not confirmed, it's clear this is the revamped Factory we’ve been waiting for, as it shares visual and spatial similarities with the current one. The new design features a dark, enclosed warehouse brimming with machinery. There’s a big dividing wall and multiple levels, much like the existing map, but with some significant upgrades. Expect to see big metal vats and plenty of smaller items, hinting at a focus on liquid production. The space looks more immersive and should breathe new life into the map 🌟. Despite the visual overhaul, the layout remains familiar with three levels: underground, main floor, and elevated walkways. This rework should make Factory more engaging, with lots to explore beyond quests and boss farming 🔧. ETA? Likely with the August wipe, alongside new hideout areas, weapons, and performance fixes. Oh dear God, Nikita... To remind you, Escape From Tarkov: Unheard edition was awarded the Secure Container Gamma even though it was supposed to be an unique feature for EoD (Edge of Darkness) edition only. This caused a huge backlash in the community and what did BattleStateGames do? They went and edited their website by removing the "unique" word from 2-year-old pages without updating the "updated" date at the bottom. 😑 Well, apparently Gamma secure container is now "unique" for Edge of Darkness edition players again. 😲 How? 🤔 They apparently decided to create a new skin for the Gamma and are (probably) going to give the different looking one to Unheard edition players or vice versa. 🤯 So the only unique thing is the skin, which is not visible in any way in-game except when viewing your inventory / equipment view. To me, the issue remains that it's still the same size for both editions and was considered one of the main reasons to purchase EoD back in the day. (BTW, this is my speculation from seeing the image in Reddit. It's just weird to see daily tweets like these from a guy who was silent in all social medias for years (feels like) 😂 He's posting almost as much as I do in indicator.gg currently! 😎 I am starting to forget what I was mad about along with the community so it seems to work 🤔 Jk jk, in reality the big issues still remain unsolved! Greedy decisions and bad calls in terms of some of the upcoming in-game P2W from BattleState Games have not been reverted.
